I am needing to obtain a quote to clear my mother’s flat in Sunderland. She has gone into residential care and the flat is being sold. I live in Australia but will be in Sunderland for 2 weeks and will need to have the flat cleared towards the end of the second week.
This is a house sale of our family home. Everything that is freestanding is to be removed but we will advise if it’s any different. Carpets and curtains, light bulbs, lampshades, are to remain! The only freestanding thing that will remain is the very large wardrobe in the bathroom which the purchasers may require. I will advise the house clearance company if it is any different.

I have recently used a reputable house clearance company called ‘Northern House Clearance’ to clear my mums two bedroom house and garage in South Hylton – Sunderland.
My mum has moved into residential care and could only take a small amount of belongings with her so everything else in the property was to be cleared. We were selling the house to go towards the fees of residential care so we required all of the carpets and curtains to stay too.
A team of three men turned up at 9am to clear the house, they were all in full uniform and were very polite. They cleared the whole house and garage within a few hours. As my mum had Alzheimer’s she would hide valuables around the house and forget about them, the guys had found my mums wedding band and just over £200 in cash, they kept this to one side and gave it to us when we returned to lock the house up after they had finished.
