Hi, I am searching for info on a reputable and fully licensed house clearance company in the Lambeth area.
My great aunt has recently moved into residential care, and we need to arrange to have her three bedroom cluttered house and garage cleared and cleaned by the end of the month.
We have a private buyer to buy her house who wants to complete the sale on the 31st.
Upon visiting my aunts house we have realised she has been living as a hoarder, my family and I haven’t been in contact with my aunt for a few years and had no idea she was living like this.
My aunts home is very cluttered with brand-new items stacked everywhere, we believe she has been buying online the past few years causing her home to become cluttered and hoarded.
Her house isn’t dirty as such but is very dusty and the carpets are covered with dog hair, she must not have hoovered in over three years because she hasn’t owned a dog since then.
I believe she shut us out years ago due to her being embarrassed by the way she had been living, hopefully she can move on from this, and we can build a relationship with her now that she is getting the care that she needs.
We have removed clothing, shoes etc that my aunt needed with her, we haven’t yet managed to locate any of her jewellery, paper work and some photographs that she has asked to be kept, we think they will be in her main bedroom but it can’t be accessed due to huge piles of clutter barricading the door, we need a professional and reliable house clearance company who can locate these valuables for us, has anyone else done this before?
We have spoken and arranged with a few charities to come and collect a lot of the items but have been let down by them all, we would appreciate it if most of it could be donated and not go to waste.
The house has three bedrooms, a living room, a dining room, two bathrooms, a kitchen and a garage.
As well as having the house and garage cleared, we would want it to be cleaned too and a few items of garden furniture removed, is this possible?
Can someone please give me details of a specialist house clearance company and also explain to me how they work.
Thank you, Ryan
Good Morning Ryan, I have just read your question and think I can help.
A few months ago I had to have a house clearance done on my mums extremely cluttered three bedroom house in Lambeth.
My mum had no choice but to move into care as she could no longer move around her home due to the piles of clutter everywhere. I didn’t want her room in care to become cluttered too, so we arranged for absolutely everything to be cleared.
After calling around and receiving information and quotes, I came across The Cluttered House Clearance Company who specialise in clearing cluttered and hoarded houses in Lambeth.
My mum had been a compulsive hoarder, spending thousands of pounds online every week, unfortunately there was too much stuff for us to take to charity ourselves and had been let down by three different charity shops who arranged to collect the stuff for us.
I arranged a date with Tiffany from head office, a team of three men arrived in a large van to clear the house, I showed them around, and they started straight away.
It took three days to completely clear and clean the house and garage as well as remove an old fridge and a swing from the garden.
As well as carrying out the clearance, I asked the team to locate my mums jewellery and keep aside any other valuables that they come across, whilst clearing her bedroom they found her jewellery box, the deeds to her house and three thousand pound, I could not have been more pleased with this and tipped the guys £100 each.
On the first day the team managed to clear the hallway, the living room and the dining room, they took three full van loads of furniture, books, clothing and bric-a-brac to charities in the Lambeth area whilst the remaining items went to recycling.
After clearing these rooms they removed the carpets and took them to recycling.
On the second day the team cleared the bathroom, the three bedrooms and the upstairs hallway, two van loads of new and used items including furniture went to charity shops.
On the third day the guys managed to finish the clearance, clearing the kitchen, garage and garden, they then cleaned the whole house afterwards.
The team were very professional throughout, worked really hard and were reliable when finding my mums valuables.
If you contact Tiffany on 07731383671 she will explain in more detail the services that they offer and be able to provide you with a quote, they only require 24 hours notice so should be able to clear the house by the end of the month for you.
I know how stressful and embarrassing this seems but once the house is cleared you will feel a lot better.
I hope you get sorted soon.
Andrea.
