Good Morning, I am looking for a reputable house clearance firm who specialise in clearing cluttered and hoarded house in Ealing – London.

The house is a three bedroom town house that belongs to my granddad, he has recently moved into residential care.

A few years ago my grandma passed away, shortly after this my granddad started to get dementia and began compulsively hoarding.

He would travel into the town center every day and buy bags full of stuff from charity shops, everything he would buy would be for my gran as he believed she would be home waiting for him to return.

At first, we never seen this as a problem until his home slowly became cluttered.

Eventually my grandad stopped letting us come around and would not let us in when we visited, he would say he was just popping out.

Then, his dementia grew quite bad where he could no longer cook for himself or get himself dressed on a morning, we decided to get him a room at residential care where he could get the professional help he needed.

We have spent the past few weeks clearing out rubbish from his home and removing belongings for him, we are only a small way into the clutter and can no longer continue due to work commitments.

Whilst the house clearance is being carried out, there are a few things that we want found for him including all of my grans jewellery, my granddads war medals, his passport, bank card and his car key, has anyone else had a house clearance company locate such items for them?

The house has three bedrooms, a lounge, an office, a kitchen, a bathroom and two storage cupboards.

I can give a rough description of the clutter throughout the house; The kitchen has piles of unopened food on the bench tops, there is a few boxes containing crockery and cutlery, and we want the fridge freezer to be removed too as it contains moldy food, the rest of the white goods can remain.

The living room has a three seated sofa, two reclining armchairs, a wing back armchair, a nest of tables, a two piece sideboard, a shelving unit, a big back television and a television stand, surrounding the furniture is stacks of records, bags of clothing, boxes containing ornaments and paperwork etc.

The office contains my granddads personal paperwork which we would like disposed of properly, there is a large leather topped desk and swivel chair, two large filing cabinets and a computer.

The bathroom is empty and does not need touched.

Both of the storage cupboards are full to the brim with clothing, shoes, coats etc.

My granddads main bedroom is extremely cluttered with no floor space visible, the clutter is piled really high covering the bed and most furniture.

The second bedroom was used as my grans dressing room, my granddad has filled this with bags of clothing that he has purchased for her, the clutter is piled to ankle height, bless my granddads soul, he has bought a huge amount of makeup, perfume, clothing and shoes for my gran over the past few years, he has filled her dressing room with the items, expecting her to return.

There is a huge amount of the clutter that can go to good use, do house clearance companies donate to charity?

The third bedroom was used as a guest room, my gran and granddad both filled this with their personal junk over time, it has boxes of toys from the great gran children, old cots, boxes of paperwork etc.

As well as the whole house being cleared, we would like items found, all carpets removed and a clean carried out too.

If you have any info for specialist house clearance companies that you recommend, I would really appreciate it.

Many thanks, Anna.
