Cluttered Hoarded House Clearance Before And After Pics

Minor details have been changed By the Anti Fly Tipping Association staff to protect our users privacy.

Good Morning, I am requesting details of a licensed and insured house clearance firm who specialise in clearing extremely cluttered and hoarded houses in the Royal Borough of Greenwich area.

My great aunt passed away last week, I am currently in the area to attend her funeral and sort out her affairs and I need to arrange to have her extremely cluttered and hoarded three bedroom house cleared sometime next month.

I will not be able to attend the cluttered house clearance as I am not from the area and cannot get the time off work.

I will be leaving the keys to her home with my solicitor, the office is a few streets away from my aunts house, can a house clearance company collect keys on my behalf and clear the house without me being there?

This is my first time having to have a house cleared, I am unsure on how the process actually works, can someone explain this to me?

I visited the house yesterday and have never seen anything like it before, I have never been to my aunts house since I was a child, we were not very close, but I am the only air to her estate, I had no idea she had been living in such squalor.

I can’t give a very detailed description as I can not access the middle floor or the top floor of her house due to the extreme amount of clutter and rubbish piled everywhere.

From what I have seen of the first floor, there is two living rooms, a dining room, a large conservatory, an open-plan kitchen, a utility room and a bathroom, I have taken photographs to provide to a house clearance company.

One of the living rooms is where my aunt must have slept for several years, there is a single bed, a huge sideboard, two sofas, two armchairs, a large marble coffee table, three side tables and a television and stand, there is also stacks of books everywhere and plastic storage boxes, I have no idea what is in these boxes.

The second living room is piled floor to ceiling with mountains of clutter, stacked boxes, books and I believe there will be furniture buried underneath it all.

The conservatory has a three-piece sofa suite, two side tables, a floor lamp, a large sewing machine and table and about 50 black bags (these could be rubbish).

The dining room is that bad that I can only peek through the door, the door may need to be removed from the hinges to gain access.

The open-plan kitchen is attached to a large hallway when entering the front door, it has a large eight seater dining table with eight chairs, three fridge freezers, and mountains of food, cleaning products, books and brand-new appliances in boxes, it is extremely cluttered.

The utility room is standard, it has a washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher and three cupboards which contain cleaning products, an ironing board etc.

The downstairs bathroom only has cleaning products, toilet roll etc to be cleared.

Throughout the whole house, I would like all the carpets removed, all appliances and all curtains too, I want the house to be completely empty.

My aunt was not poor, so I believe there could be valuable items amongst the rubbish and clutter, can a house clearance company find these items for me? If so, do they post them to my home or can they leave them in the house for me?

There is a huge amount of brand-new items lying around that could also be donated to charity, do house clearance companies donate to charity?

Any information on a fully licensed and insured house clearance company who specialise in clearing hoarded and cluttered houses would be much appreciated.

Thank you, Jack

Good Afternoon Jack.

Last year I had to arrange to have my mums cluttered and verminous house cleared in the Royal Borough of Greenwich.

I hadn’t visited my mums house for many years as I live in Glasgow, she would come and visit me regularly so never felt the need to, I had no idea that she had been living in a verminous and cluttered house for the past five years of her life.

When she passed away I went down south for her funeral, I visited her home to arrange a clearance and realised that it had become extremely cluttered and hoarded.

I couldn’t clear her home myself as it was too big a Job, I would have still been clearing it now! I hired a company called The Cluttered House Clearance Company who came highly recommended on AFTA, they only specialise in clearing these types of verminous and extremely cluttered houses.

My mums house had three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, dining room, kitchen and utility room, it took three days to completely clear of all clutter, furniture, appliances and carpets.

I was unable to be present for the clearance due to work commitments, I arranged for the hoarded house clearance specialists to collect the keys from a nearby estate agents.

Once the team arrived to clear the property, they kept me updated on how the process was going so far.

On the first day, the specialists cleared the living room, dining room and utility room, they sent me photographs of the empty rooms whilst they were going, from these three rooms, they managed to donate a whole van load to charity, they sent photographs of them unloading this load to the charity in the Royal Borough of Greenwich.

On the second day, the team cleared the kitchen, the kitchen was large and was filled with mountains of food, bags of food waste, boxed small appliances, crockery etc, it was extremely cluttered.

The team managed to donate a huge amount of the unopened food to a local food bank, all the brand-new small appliances and most of the crockery was donated to charity, whilst the rest went to recycling.

They managed to clear both bathrooms and one bedroom on the second day, whilst clearing my mums main bedroom, they found a box containing her jewellery, personal documents and some cash, the guys phoned to ask me if I would like them posted to my home address or kept in the house for when I returned, I asked if they would post them too me, they done this when they arrived back to their head office, they sent the parcel 1st class and signed free of charge.

On the third day, the team cleared the remaining two bedrooms, these rooms were the worst by far and the doors had to be removed from their hinges to gain access, the team put the doors back on the hinges when they were finished.

Throughout the whole clearance, the team kept me updated on how the process was going, asked if I wanted to keep certain items that they felt may be of value to me and sent me photographs of the house once it was empty, they were very professional throughout.

Once the house had been completely cleared, the team returned the keys to the estate agents and  I received an invoice via email, Tiffany from head office called me to take payment via card over the phone, she sent me a copy of my receipt via email.

The whole process was made super easy for me, the team were very professional throughout the course of the three days, and they were reliable when finding and posting my mums jewellery, documents and cash.

I can highly recommend them to clear your aunts extremely cluttered and hoarded property too.

Here is their contact information. Email: clutteredclearances@yahoo.com Tel: 07731383671.

I hope this helps with what you are looking for.

Andrea.
