Will Oliver, a farmer from Warwickshire, is fed up with rubbish being dumped on his land and having to pay for its removal. He has photographed numerous flytipping incidents on his land over the past eight months and is calling for a stronger deterrent against offenders.

Oliver wants the maximum fine of £50,000 to be enforced more frequently to prevent people from ruining his land and livelihood. He pointed out that local authorities are not responsible for clearing up rubbish on private land, leaving the responsibility to the landowner.

Joseph Patrick Ramsey, a 37-year-old man from Newcastle, has been given a suspended prison sentence for his involvement in a fly-tipping spree. Ramsey ran a waste collection business with his father, Joseph Robert James Ramsay, using various trading names. Between October and November 2021, Ramsey charged people hundreds of pounds to collect their rubbish and promised to dispose of it properly.

Cheshire West and Chester Council is appealing to the public for help in identifying a fly-tipper who was caught on camera dumping a trailer full of waste on Stanney Mill Road in Ellesmere Port last October. The CCTV footage shows a man parking a white van with a trailer at 12:04 pm on Halloween, and the waste found in the location included a large pile of straw and hay.

The council is cracking down on illegal dumping of waste and has installed mobile CCTV cameras at well-known hotspots around the borough to capture offenders in the act. The use of such cameras led to the identification of the fly-tipper in question.

In a shocking incident of fly-tipping, parts of a dismantled caravan were found dumped at a picturesque location in the Cotswolds. The incident has left residents outraged and Cotswold District Councillor Julia Judd has expressed her dismay at finding such a beautiful spot littered.

The waste was found scattered along the track in Edgeworth near Cirencester, which is a remote, beautiful spot. Councillor Judd has said that it will cost taxpayers a lot of money to clear up this mess, as it will require multiple site visits, a variety of vehicles and trailers, and hours of manpower. The chassis and other bits of the caravan were found in Stroud District, making the cleanup process more complicated.

In Thurso, a dog owner is urging Highland Council to take more action on fly-tipping after his pet was severely injured by rubbish dumped in the street. Ivor Manson has challenged the council’s response to his concerns, stating that despite writing to them a month ago, asbestos is now spilling onto the road. He has also had to pay a large vet bill for his dog, Storm, which required stitches after getting caught on the rubbish.

Over the weekend, a disturbing incident occurred in Binstead on the Isle of Wight where a significant number of charity bags belonging to Cancer Care Trust and an e-scooter from Beryl were found dumped in a nearby stream. The charity bags were found discarded in the brook located off Binstead Lodge Road, and surprisingly, a Beryl e-scooter was also found thrown in the same location despite the presence of a Beryl station nearby on Binstead Road.

A man named Callum Smith is set to appear before Warwickshire’s magistrates’ court on March 3rd after being charged with depositing controlled or extractive waste on land without an environmental permit, following an investigation into fly-tipping at a farm in Warwickshire.

In September, video footage of waste being dumped in Ansley, Warwickshire, was shared online. The video shows a white van with piles of rubbish near the back of the vehicle, and the driver quickly driving off when spotted, with the van’s doors still flapping open, revealing household waste inside.

A local city councillor in Birmingham has spoken out about an act of fly-tipping that he described as “staggeringly irresponsible”. The incident occurred at Acocks Green railway station and was captured on video, which was shared on Twitter. The footage shows rubbish being flung over a fence and onto the tracks at the station, although the person responsible is hidden.

Councillor Roger Harmer, who represents Acocks Green for the Liberal Democrats, has called for action to be taken to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future. He shared the video on Twitter and commented, “Taking place in broad daylight and risking derailment of passing trains.”

A man from Shotton Colliery has been fined almost £2,000 after being caught on camera dumping waste. Robert Wright, aged 40, was secretly filmed in Black Lane, Wheatley Hill, in October 2021, unloading various waste materials over a four-minute period. The footage showed him arriving in a blue Ford transit van and dumping gas bottles, wood, cardboard, garden and building waste.

The scourge of fly-tipping in Coventry seems to be showing no signs of abating as yet another incident of this kind has recently occurred. This time, a massive pile of cut-up tyres was found dumped at the end of Bedlam Lane in Rowleys Green, near the Arena Shopping Park. The tyres were sliced up, presumably to prevent them from being taken and re-used, and the pile of rubbish also included a sink, fencing, and car registration plates.

A father and son from Middlesbrough have been fined for fly-tipping after a tonne of bricks and rubble were found dumped on a roadside. The disabled pensioner, Brian Mulraney, aged 79, and his 50-year-old son, Garron Mulraney, appeared in court to face charges of illegal waste disposal. The duo was ordered to pay almost £4,000 after admitting to the offence.

During the hearing at Teesside Magistrates’ Court, Brian Mulraney pleaded guilty to two counts of fly-tipping – one at Saltersgill Avenue in Middlesbrough and the other on land near the Maryfield Farm Shop in Thornaby. Meanwhile, Garron Mulraney, who lives on Crescent Road in Middlesbrough, was jointly charged with his father with one of the offences – the Saltersgill Avenue fly-tipping – and he also pleaded guilty.

Over the years, Banksy has become a name synonymous with street art, and has used their platform to make bold statements on various social and political issues. However, Banksy’s latest work, which was discovered in Margate, Kent, has been removed within hours of the elusive artist claiming it as their own.

The artwork, titled “Valentine’s Day Mascara,” depicted a 1950s housewife shoving her male partner into a chest freezer, with a missing tooth and a swollen eye. Banksy shared a series of photos of the piece on their Instagram account on Tuesday, confirming that they were behind the artwork.

The piece appeared to have a theme of domestic abuse, and speculation about the post suggested that the Bristol-born artist was referencing fighting violence against women on Valentine’s Day.

The council’s website features a “rogues’ gallery” of images captured by these cameras in Lye, which the public is encouraged to review to identify and anonymously report any offenders they recognize.

A white van caught on camera dumping “at least 12 mattresses” on the side of a road in Norris Green, Liverpool was seized and crushed by the city council. A witness captured the group of fly-tippers in the act and reported the incident to The ECHO. The council immediately launched an investigation and discovered that the van was involved in multiple instances of serious fly-tipping across the city. Just as the council was preparing to seize the van, Merseyside Police uncovered that it had no road tax, leading to the vehicle being crushed.
